Alpha GPC Overview
Alpha GPC (choline alfoscerate, L-Alpha Glycerylphosphorylcholine) is a
parasympathomimetic acetylcholine precursor and a natural choline present in the brain
and in milk. It is derived from highly purified soy lecithin.
It’s a potential choice for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and is good for improving
memory and cognition. The compound increases physical strength and mental clarity.
It can be used to grow taller and develop more muscle tone by teenagers and to burn
more fat, so it is good news for obesities. However, it can cause rash and insomnia
probably. Studies have investigated its efficacy for cognitive disorders including stroke
and Alzheimer’s Disease.
An Italian multicentre clinical trial on over 2,000 patients suffering from recent stroke
were supplied alpha-GPC in doses of 1,000 mg/day for 28 days and 400 mg three times
per day for the five ensuing months (from WIKI). The trial confirmed the therapeutic role
of alpha-GPC on the cognitive recovery of patients based on four measurement scales,
three of which reached statistical significance.
It seems usually people take 300-1,200 mg per day of GPC. A higher dose may be
needed for the first week or so for the effects to kick in.

My Number 1 Choline Source
I prefer to take GPC over CDP choline as there's some evidence GPC can raise growth hormone as a previous post has mentioned.
I stick to 300mg per day as this is a fairly expensive nootopic. Currently taking it alongside Pramiracetam (200mg).
Fantastic Choline Supplement
For me it's always been either GPC or CDP choline as my primary choline source for any stack. I give the edge to GPC for it's HGH release which may prove useful.
Generally I use 500mg per day alongside a racetam to prevent headaches and ensure optimum acetylcholine synthesis. Longer term I'm probably giving the brain adequate choline for PC synthesis.
Clearer thinking, more mental endurance and better memory/recall would be the primary effects.
Anything over 1,000mg per day tends to depress/sedate me and make me a little foggy. 500mg is the sweet spot for me :)
